"There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure."

Born in France to Algerian parents, Samia Arslane’s passion for fashion ignited at an early age. Inspired by her mother’s love for couture and unwavering pursuit of excellence, she was captivated by the world of high fashion during childhood trips to Paris Fashion Week. A creative spirit with a bold artistic vision, she once aspired to moonlight as a backup dancer for Janet Jackson—a testament to her fearless approach to life and creativity.
Samia pursued her education in California, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication from the American InterContinental University. Her career took off in 2005 when she joined the launch team of Genlux, a premier luxury magazine celebrating haute couture, celebrity culture, and influential creators. Initially serving as Fashion Editor, she quickly ascended to Editor-in-Chief, a role she has held for nearly two decades. Under her leadership, Genlux has established itself as a cornerstone of Southern California’s high-fashion scene.
A seasoned brand strategist and tastemaker, Samia specializes in brand consulting, product launches, and placement. She is widely recognized in Los Angeles as a key influencer with an innate ability to identify emerging trends and champion rising designers. Her signature style fuses timeless elegance with modern edge, reflecting her love for storied fashion houses such as Chanel, Alaïa, Alexandre Vauthier, and Tamara Ralph, alongside cutting-edge brands like Helmut Lang and Rick Owens. “I gravitate towards clothing that celebrates a woman’s curves and exudes effortless elegance—those are the pieces that stand the test of time,” she shares.
An avid traveler, Samia frequents Europe’s Fashion Weeks and couture shows, continuously drawing inspiration from the global fashion landscape. Beyond the industry, she finds influence in a diverse group of trailblazers, including Coco Chanel, Gloria Steinem, Maya Angelou, and Malala Yousafzai. However, her greatest inspiration remains her mother, Fatima, whose strength and wisdom have been a guiding force in her life.
Samia’s commitment to philanthropy is as integral to her identity as her passion for fashion. As a dedicated Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer, she works to improve the lives of foster children in Los Angeles.
Following the loss of her younger brother, Mehdi, to neurofibromatosis (NF), she joined the Children’s Tumor Foundation European Committee, working tirelessly to raise funds and awareness for a cure. She is also producing a documentary to honor Mehdi’s memory and highlight the lived experiences of those affected by NF.
A visionary leader at the intersection of fashion, advocacy, and innovation, Samia Arslane continues to shape the industry while making a profound impact on the lives she touches.
